A lot of Nintendo 64 games have not aged well graphically, but SF64 is a minor exception. And it's a good thing they did, because it improves upon the original in almost every way. The side characters exist only to annoy you, they NEVER SHUT THE FUCK UP and the audio quality is SOOOOOOOOO bad. You're not fighting the enemies, you're fighting the design. That and the low-res JPEGs that pop out at you and you're somehow expected to judge their distance as they get more and more blown up and pixelated. You get no options and no remapping, can't even switch movement from inverted flight controls, because the terrible fucking control scheme is all there is to provide difficulty to the game. Nintendo had an agenda against control schemes that aren't fucking terrible. Much like the other N64 game I played recently, Mario Kart 64, this game doesn't let you use the left half of the controller at all.
